In 2019, the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital acquired 11 Akman screenprints as part of a collection of  over 1,250 works of contemporary art installed in their new 25-floor, 730,000 square foot building in New York City.

The artwork was selected and installed to brighten the days, lift the spirits, and inspire patients, their families, and staff engaged in cancer treatment and research.Gallery.html

Cade Tompkins Projects curated the collection which includes works of contemporary art by national and international emerging talent as well as important historic New York City based artists. While not open to the general public, a digital art tour, scheduled to be launched in 2020, will allow patients and the public to learn about the works of art on view as well as see photos of Akman prints hanging in the center’s hallways and rooms.

“To be included in this unique collection is a high honor and tribute to my work.  I extend my thanks to Cade Tompkins as well as the MSK stakeholders, including lead doctors, nurses, and administrators, who chose to include my prints.”
