About American Giants

The Inspiration

In a time of political discontent, remembering there have been ethical, moral American leaders preserves some optimism that the situation can be different some day. No better way to capture this hope than standing on the banks of the Potomac River on a sunny day and seeing the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument in all their majesty. That’s the origins of the image and title of “American Giants”. This print is a companion piece to “Dysfunction Junction”, completed in April 2015 as an artistic statement of the functionality of the U.S. Congress at the present time.

The Project
“
“American Giants” is a 17 color print. The prints were made on Stonehenge paper. Images are 8¼” x 18¾” on 14¼” x 25” sheets. Speedball Acrylic Screen Printing Inks were used.
